June 9-13 Last Full Week and The Zoo!

Hello Families!

It feels like yesterday that I was welcoming you to room 103...and now we are in the last full week of school. My how your children have grown! It has truly been a privilege to be part of his/her educational journey. I adore each one of my "littles"!

I am thinking of all of you running off to the last t ball game or soccer game or getting ready for those end of year recitals, etc...

Your children ALL did an amazing job at our kindergarten concert. I give them credit for getting up on a stage like that! After the show, we went back to the classroom to reflect a little and all the students said how proud they were of themselves for participating and that the experience was a good one (despite the nerves walking in!).

This week will be a little different because we will be doing zoo theme activities and end of the year things while tying up loose ends. I will be sending home lots of items this week and next Monday!

I had a great time with your children at field day last Monday. Thank you to all the parents from 103 that volunteered- it was so fun to see you at the event!

MONDAY-Chalk Fest at RSS from 5-7:00!

THURSDAY- "light it up day" spirit day: dance party in the classroom with glow necklaces/ etc...! Students do not have to bring anything😀.

FRIDAY- we are going to the ZOO!!
VERY IMPORTANT INFO REGARDING OUR FIELD TRIP:
  • Chaperones must be in the classroom by 8:30 to go over the itinerary for the day, etc. This is much easier to do before the children arrive (they start to come in by 8:40). If you need to bring your child with you, that is fine. Please bring a backpack to hold your group's water bottles, snacks etc..
  • Please make sure your child has on sunscreen (if you want them to have some:) before coming to school
  • Students should wear sneakers
  • Students do NOT bring a backpack to school on Thursday!
  • Lunch/snacks from home should be in a disposable bag, labeled with your child's name
  • Students need a water bottle (there are filling stations around the zoo so no need for more than one)
  • IF you are driving your child to school on Friday, please make sure they are in the classroom by 8:50. The busses leave promptly at 9:00.
  • Children should NOT bring any money!
  • IF you plan to change your child's dismissal plan from the one you gave me (long time ago now!), PLEASE do so in writing that morning. I will not have time to check emails during the day to check pick up patrol, etc...
