October 16-20th

Hello!

The students enjoyed PJ day and we had a little "dance party" outside at recess one day- They are SO cute!

We are really close to filling our heart jar again so stay tuned to how we will celebrate! 👏

A book fair order form should have come home with your child last week. If you did not get one, please let me know and I will see if there are any extras or you can look online.  HERE is the link. We will be going to the book fair as a class on Friday during our library time. Of course you can go as a family during the after school times on Monday (4-6:00) and Wednesday (12:45-2:45) as well.

Just a reminder to please send your child's folder to school each day. Everyone got a folder so if your child does not have a folder, please replace it or let me know and I will get another. The children are learning the routines and it is difficult without consistency. Thanks so much!😁

You should have received login information for Dreambox and Lexia. IF your child is working on either, please note that it is really important that your child does these on their own! Of course you can help with directions, however. I look over their progress and can make instruction based on their results so it is important that I am seeing a representation of what they know- I hope that makes sense! We have had older siblings "helping" in the past and the skills look advanced when I check but the student is unable to produce the same work in class.

This week the students will:

Language Arts-

  • review all learned "trick words" learned to date
  • write and learn the sounds of letters d, s
  • distinguish the beginning sounds of words, especially words that begin with d and s

  • produce rhyming words
  • practice ABC order
  • demonstrate understanding of concepts of print (how to hold a book, where is the title and title page, track words from left to right, etc:)
