Hello!
We will begin a new module in Wit and Wisdom and our "essential question" will be "What Makes a Good Story?" and we will be answering this using a FARM theme.
This week we will review letters l, h, k and learn a new trick word: is. We will continue to distinguish the beginning sound in words and sequencing a story. The children will be learning how to add more sounds in their writing.
This is how we pronounce and write our new letters
using our Fundations pictures and lines
In math, we will be practicing matching numbers 6-10 with quantities, writing those numbers and will be working with 10 frames a lot!
In Social Studies, the children will learn a little about Veteran's Day and the farm community. The children will participate in a Second Step lesson about caring and helping. Here is a link to a home link about our lesson if you want to practice at home!
This Week:
- Monday- A Shaker Lane spirit day: AMERICA DAY! Students are invited to wear red, white and blue
- Tuesday- NO SCHOOL
- Thursday is picture retake day
- Friday is parent/teacher conferences. I am looking forward to seeing you! If you haven't signed up by Thursday morning, I will assume you do not want to conference at this time, which is fine (I don't hunt people down-๐). If you need to change your time, please try to do so by Thursday. Because of the busy schedule, I have everything organized in order of the conferences and I do not have time to check the sign up on Friday. If you can't make your conference time, please call the office so that they can let me know as soon as possible. If you are requesting a virtual conference, please log on right at your time so that it does not interrupt a potential conference before you. Please note that the conferences are for caretakers/teachers only. If you need to bring your child, I can set up a table in the hall with some activities for him/her. We only have 15 minutes and it goes by quickly so, as much as I would love to visit with my student, it is your time!๐
HERE is the virtual link for conferences (it is also on the sign up)
