Hello!
I am looking forward to seeing you this Wednesday at our conference! Please keep in mind that the conference schedule is tight so give yourself time to get to the classroom and feel free to knock on the door at your allotted time. If you are virtual, I put the link on the conference sign up- it is in red and highlighted yellow. If you have to switch the day of conferences, I may not see that change as there will not be time for me to keep checking the schedule. Please call the office and let them know well in advance of any changes so that I can prepare. I will do my very best to stay on track, too!
The Scholastic Book orders are due by Sunday - I will put the orders in Sunday night around 8:00.
Thank you to all who donated books for the March Madness Reading Activity! The kindergarten teachers have begun to read the lovely books to our classes and students are voting on their favorites,
Also, thank you to Nitya's family for the play dough! The children are enjoying it during choice time...it is always a favorite!
This week, the students will continue to identify, describe and build 3D shapes. They will also learn positional vocabulary (behind, in front of, next to, etc) using shapes and dinosaurs.
The children will continue to decode/encode CVC and CVCC words as well as write their opinion about dinosaurs in a complete sentence. We will be comparing fiction/non fiction and retelling the story Happy Birthday, Danny and the Dinosaur. Our new trick word will be: his .
In our Second Step lesson, we will discuss how to deal with having things taken away in an appropriate way. This is part of the Fair Ways to Play unit.
