| Wit and Wisdom Module 3 Texts |
Hello Families,
We had a fun Farm Day celebration and the butter making was a success!
I am super excited for our next Wit and Wisdom module to begin on Tuesday: America, Then and Now! We will be learning about famous Americans like Ben Franklin and how things like school and transportation have changed.
In addition to beginning our new module, the children will be...
Language Arts:
- learning to write uppercase letters
- tapping and blending CVC words
- using magnets to make words
- practicing ABC order
- writing sentences
- sequencing a story
- reviewing all the trick words
Math:
- acting out and solving both addition and subtraction problems and telling me why they used addition/subtraction
- sequencing numbers 0-20
- practicing number writing
Second Step:
- lesson 17: managing disappointment
Science Center:
- compare temperature of snow/warm water
- observe snowflakes up close
- experiment with a large "ice balloon" and see what happens when you add salt to ice
Some important things to note:
- The Scholastic Book order will be due on MONDAY Jan. 19. I will put the order in that evening. I am giving it an extra day:)
- Report cards will be available Monday Feb. 2nd after 4:00 in ASPEN (kindergarten has 2 semesters, which is different from the other grades)
- The 100th day of school is scheduled to be on Feb. 6th: HERE is information regarding the 100th day of school!
- Our Valentine's Day class list is at the top of the blog for anyone who likes to get things done early:). Each child brings in a card for each classmate. I encourage your child to at least sign his/her name on the cards they are giving and it might be too much for them to do at once. Please note that we are NOT allowed to attach any candy to the Valentine. Please have Valentine's in by 8:55 am on 2/13.
- Thank you for all the paper towels and Clorox wipes- It will be a huge help in keeping those germs at bay in room 103!
