Oct. 28-31st 2024: HALLOWEEN and Conference info (with a slight change)

Hello,

We had a busy week! We are wrapping up module 1 of our Wit and Wisdom curriculum and next week will be lots of assessments before we begin the new theme the following week. The children had fun playing with their toys from home on Tuesday and I witnessed lots of sharing among classmates💖

CONFERENCES: The conference sign up will be linked on 10/30 (not 10/31)! I did not delete any previous sign ups, but of course you are welcome to change your initial time if needed.

This coming week-

Thursday is Halloween- please read the important info: HERE is the information for room 103

We will be having a special snack on Thursday during our snack time. Please let me know if you do not want your child to have the treat OR send in a treat for your child with a note so that we know. I have asked for a gluten free snack.

This week...

The children will:

Language Arts-

  • learn a new trick word- my
  • learn to recognize, name and produce the sounds of letters p, j
  • identify the beginning sound in a word and listen if a word ends in the /p/  sound
  • put letters in ABC order
  • match lower to upper case letters
  • practice writing the letters learned to date with a multi-sensory approach
  • arrange word card to make simple sentences to practice sight words and 1:1 correspondence when reading

  •

This is how we write the letters j and p:

  • counting forward to and backwards from 10
  • drawing to represent an add/sub problem
  • using objects to represent add/sub story
  • matching numbers to quantity
  • comparing numbers 0-10
  • counting with 1:1 correspondence
Science-
  • explore the Imagatorium on Tuesday!
  • participate in a "Monster STEM" project on Thursday
  • complete our 5 senses unit
  • continue to practice and develop simple coding skills
Social Emotional-
