Some important things to note:
  • The Scholastic Book order will be due on MONDAY Jan. 22. I will put the order in after school.
  • Report cards will be available Monday Jan. 29th
  • Thursday 2/1 is a Shaker Lane spirit day- BOOK DAY (children are encouraged to bring their favorite book to school to show at our morning meeting)
  • Shakey's Storytime is a school virtual event and it will be on 2/1. I will be reading at 6:30!
  • The 100th day of school is scheduled to be on Feb. 6th and there will be more information about this on the next blog post.
  • Shaker Lane will be participating in Global Play Day on Feb. 7th. I will share more information regarding this day next week but just wanted to let you know that room 103 will indeed be PLAYING on that day:)
  • Our Valentine's Day class list is at the top of the blog for anyone who likes to get things done early:). Each child brings in a card for each classmate. I encourage your child to at least sign his/her name on the cards they are giving and it might be too much for them to do at once. Please note that we are NOT allowed to attach any candy to the Valentine. Please have Valentine's in by 8:55 am on 2/14.
Here are some pictures from last week!

A huge thank you to Mr. Brochu for being our
Mystery Reader!

Learning about our 5 senses

Our community meeting was about the R in
HEART! HERE is the link for the book we heard
We also talked about showing respect to each other

This week we learned a little about evergreen trees and we used evergreens to paint "snow" on an "evergreen" for our bulletin board.

We used thermometers to measure and compare the temperature of snow and hot water. Hopefully the recording sheets made it home for you to see the results!
